Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are paramount for a healthy society, and we must begin by teaching our children what that really means. By observing certain cultural/religious holidays in our public schools with a day off, but not recognizing others with the same course of action, we are quietly telling our children whose cultures and religions are more important and whose are less. Our children are listening. 

The goal of this petition is to change Haverford School District Policy in order to observe EVERYONE's holidays in the same way. Help us to make diversity, equity, and inclusion fundamental for the next generation.

We are proposing to the board to emulate other local school districts and add four major holidays to the calendar: Diwali, Eid Al Adha, Eid Al Fitr, and Chinese New Year.
