The School District of Philadelphia blocked Google Hangouts near October of 2020. A Masterman student started a petition that reached 462 out of the 500 signatures needed. Recently, on January 23rd of 2022, the district opened Google Chat for students. Students were happy and were able to create spaces and group chats to talk and catch up. February 4th, 2022, the district banned Google Chat, leaving us back to square one.

Students are wanting to communicate with friends and classmates, and not having any source of messaging makes students upset and annoyed. Inappropriate language was never used in Google Chat, and the district has already blocked calling and sending pictures. 

Please get all students, families, and guardians to sign this petition, so we can be able to chat with classmates again. Thank you!
