In the state of Colorado, CGM (continuous glucose monitors) are not covered by Medicaid for children or adults living with type 1 diabetes. These monitors are absolutely essential for good control for diabetics and can help kids with diabetes avoid having complications later in life. They are covered in many other states because they are considering essential but not in Colorado. They are extremely expensive out of pocket and nobody should suffer because they can't afford the right supplies to control a disease they didn't ask to have. (And for all of you who say people with diabetes gave it to themselves, you're thinking of type 2 diabetes which is more common in America. Type one you generally have from childhood and it is 100 percent genetic).
