Each year many residents worry about the terrifying effect fireworks have on their pets and wildlife in general. Many of us take precautions including medication, specialised blankets and coats etc but firework noise can have a lasting effect on our pets. Wildlife does not have any such precautions.

Pet owners know it's the noise from fireworks that causes unwanted stress and emotional trauma that is physically apparent in animals of all species. Owners become tense with knowledge that several times a year a loved member of the family will endure this.

As fireworks are not limited to specific dates and times, animals suffer more often than not.

Many of us celebrate the occasions where fireworks are used, New year, Bonfire night... We understand the need for our councils to hold events to bring the communities together or to celebrate with friends and family. Pet owners are not asking to cancel celebrations or displays, just to spare a thought for the greater welfare of all it's animal residents.

Please sign this petition if you would like to see a trail run in Hastings and Rother with a ban on the sale and use of traditional fireworks in both public and private events. Urging holders of public events and companies selling fireworks to use low noise or silent fireworks. This technology has been available for years! There are several companies in the Uk producing these types of fireworks, yet we still choose to see animals, children and people with Ptsd suffer. It is not believed that a change to silent or low noise fireworks would change people's enjoyment. Nor would it lessen any attendance to public events.

Towns and councils have already taken this step to use only low noise and silent fireworks, which has received positive reviews from the community.

2020 has seen a year with no public firework displays! Let's hope we can all get back to enjoying community events, with a better outcome for everyone.

Give a voice to the animal community. Please share among your friends, family, groups and pages.
