Wizard of the Coast has a long and tiring history of paying lip service to issues of gender and racial equality, but being anything but inclusive behind the scenes. Few if any BIPOC employees working creatively on Magic: the Gathering or Dungeons and Dragons, Wizards continually hires transphobic or racist individuals and retains them after their transgressions are public knowledge, and they employ sexual predators. The only change we have seen is ad hoc placation and we want to see real change!

We recommend the following:

1. Implement a detailed plan to hire and retain women and BIPOC for the creative and design teams behind your products, and make the details of that plan publicly available.

2. Establish clear standards for employees, contractors, professional players, wizard network game stores, and creator program participants that will not tolerate racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia or any other forms of prejudice and bigotry.

3. Develop tools to support women and BIPOC creating content around your products and help them grow their following. This isn’t just the right thing to do - it has clear benefits to your business model as a whole to represent these communities!

4. Commit a portion of your product sales where you used the work of bigots and sexual predators in your art to be donated to an appropriate charity.
