As some of us are aware, the Power Rangers will soon transition into a new chapter of their legacy. Among the projects in the future shared universe is a movie of Mighty Morphin soon to announce whether it’ll be a theatrical release or a streaming exclusive (hopefully Netflix). We do hold onto hope the movie will renew interest in the mainstream family market in Power Rangers as a brand. Jonathan Entwistle is set to direct the movie and supervise the other universe plans on behalf of Hasbro. I do propose one idea for casting as the robot technician Alpha 5.

Josh Gad a Tony Award nominated screen song stage vet best known for Book of Mormon, Chet in the Angry Birds movies and Olaf in Disney’s Frozen franchise makes the best fit to play Alpha 5. He’s got the plucky comic relief down. The movie will need levity when necessary. With an iconic character and a voice to match, parents will want to take their kids not just for the cool explosions or Spandex super suits. The perfect casting.

Fellow Ranger fans I call upon you to bring Josh Gad the man who gave us lovable sidekicks to play our beloved Alpha 5. Ai Yi Yi is one catchphrase we need to hear. Be fun to see him transform from a snowman to a robot. Go Go PR!
