Mary Whiton Calkins was a female psychologist in the 1890s who finished all of the requirements needed to receive her Ph.D in psychology from Harvard, but she was not granted her degree due to the fact that she was a woman. Even now, Harvard refuses to posthumously award Calkins (who later became the first female president of the American Psychological Association) the degree she earned. This is meant to petition Harvard and ask for them to grant Calkins to degree she deserves.
