Protect All of Hartford’s Families!

The Planning and Zoning Commission is still finalizing the newly adopted zoning regulations to solidify the language. Families all across the city will be greatly affected by these changes, including ours! As the regulations currently stand, we (the "Scarborough 11") are NOT okay to remain in our home. To make matters even more difficult, the city of Hartford is STILL suing us in Superior Court. We are asking for the Planning and Zoning Commission to maintain the current regulations BUT remove the limit on unrelated people who can live together. Family is who you share your home, your heart and your life with. If you agree, Hartford residents will have the most impact so to our Hartford friends and family, please sign on and ask your neighbors to sign on as well! We can do this but only if we speak up and show Planning and Zoning that the majority of Hartford residents want to see this change! For background on the situation, click here: http://www.courant.com/community/hartford/hc-hartford-zoning-change-0113-20160112-story.html Dear Planning and Zoning Commission,We, the undersigned, would like to modify the current zoning language to read as follows:Household:(1) One person, together with up to 2 domestic employees; 2 or more persons, each related to the other by blood, marriage, or adoption, together with up to 2 domestic employees; or two or more persons all of whom are not necessarily related to each other by blood, marriage, or adoption, and their children living together as a common household unit.(2) A roomer or boarder or bona fide guest shall not be considered a member of a household.(3) The household or members of the household shall not be temporary or itinerant.Household Unit:(1) A collection of individuals occupying the entire dwelling unit, sharing a household budget and expenses, preparing food and eating together regularly, sharing in the work to maintain the premises, and legally sharing in the ownership or possession of the premises.(2) Persons occupying group quarters such as a dormitory, fraternity or sorority house shall not be considered a household unit.(3) No legal dependency outside of the household unit(4) No sleeping rooms lockable from the outside
