Bruce Cunningham started this petition to Harrison County Indiana elected officials

South Harrison Water (SHW) is trying to gain support and partial grant funding for a new water main project beginning at Hwy 135 and going west along Shiloh RD to its intersection with Steam Engine RD.  This includes a new bore under Hwy 135.  Then along Heidelberg RD starting at Green Acres DR going west to Valley View RD.  A short section of main on Steam Engine RD to its intersection with Mathis RD may also be done if monies allow.  The water main on Green Acres DR is already large enough and does NOT have to be upgraded.

By upgrading these water mains, we may then install at least 12 new fire hydrants along that route.  Though new water mains will help SHW, the fire hydrants are all about helping YOU, our customers and home owners.  We make no money on fire hydrants.  But, YOU will save money on your insurance rates after the hydrants are installed.  If you live along this route, or in Shiloh Woods Subdivision, this will help YOU.  Harrison Twp. Fire Dept is also supporting our effort.  More fire hydrants for them means better fire protection for YOU.

The proposed route is TENTATIVE and we have no construction plans in hand.  We will NOT dig on your property without talking with you.  This petition is just to help us gain support from the Harrison County Commissioners and County Council.

Harrison County received $7.9 million in COVID / American Rescue Plan funds.  These funds may be used for infrastructure.  We are asking for a small portion of these funds.

Please sign our online petition to show your support.

Thank you!
