Harnett County Board of Education made a decision to keeps schools closed due to this pandemic. In light of the new numbers posted at CDC.gov and NC HEALTH schools should have opened safely. Well now its time we told elected officials what we want to do by signing this petition to reopen Harnett county schools.

As of 2019, census shows 135,976 residents of Harnett  county. Confirmed Covid cases, as of Sept. 2nd, in this county are at 1,674. Active cases 211 and recovered cases 1,368(still alive after contracting Covid19). Deaths reported 46. 

Clearly, we don't want schools to open if its not safe but according to these numbers our children have more of a chance catching the common cold than the false statistics placed early on in the pandemic. 

With this petition we acknowledge the safety factors and wish to proceed with reopening schools. We want this petition to be a testimony to our thoughts as the Harnett county populace and for the Board of Education use our voices to reopen schools entirely with safety provisions for faculty and students.
