Harmony Row Youth Club = sport for life
Why this petition matters
Harmony Row Youth Club Needs Your Help!!
This iconic life line for the local communities in Govan and the surrounding areas is under threat from its own board. As of the end of this year a decision has been made (with no consultation) by 6 members of the board to disband all football age groups over 18years of age.
This includes our cup winning ladies team, amateur team who have been hugely successful, our recently promoted 35s team and even our under 19 team.
The board has also refused to accept new members and requests have been universally denied without reason or just cause.
This means that the football community has zero influence on any decisions which affect them.
This has been deeply felt by all football communities young and old who have shared their outrage to this over social media. Everyone is calling for the board to see sense and reconsider this needless decision which will not only be crippling to those who so desperately rely on the club to stay healthy and keep mentally well, but will also see the club lose valuable monies and funding in a time of economic crisis. This decision also leaves no path for our young people to continue with sport once they turn 18 (at a hugely pivotal moment of a young persons life).
Please sign this petition to show support for our children, young people, players, coaches, volunteers, and supporters to show the board that this is unacceptable and that the club belongs solely to the community it was created to serve.
