Their dealer partner in Chennai, MP Vikram, Coromandel Harley-Davidson (Lathangi Cycle&Carriage p.ltd.(dealer code.3288) has and is behaving unethically, unlawfully and ruthlessly manipulating the local legal system as well as being discriminatory about people with disabilities sustained while working for his company.
i was employed by this dealer/ dealership, MP Vikram, ( Lathangi Cycle&Carriage p.ltd.(dealer code.3288)as Business Head and have never been found wanting in terms of responsibility handling or integrity while I was employed with them.
It was in the month of july 2012 when on an official HOG(Harley Owners Group) ride that I met with a major accident and suffered a right arm amputation from the shoulder as also multiple injuries to the right leg and went through 12 major surgeries to save my life. The moment the dealer MP Vikram, came to know of this newly acquired disability, he realised I am no longer useful for him and cooked up false allegations, formed a kangaroo court, comprising of his brother and two other staff unrelated to the business I was heading, and terminated my services while I was still bedridden.
When I filed a civil case(in the month of December 2012) claiming compensation for the loss of employment and loss of limb while on official duty, the dealer, MP Vikram, has employed all kinds of delaying tactics using his money power to stall the application of justice and has come up with ridiculous reasons on why he isn't liable to pay, and even claiming damages from me as an afterthought.
Apart from the Rupees 2.75 lacs hospital advance, he hasn’t paid any compensation and refuses to do so despite several mediation efforts by the Madras High court mediation centre. The medical expenses of over Rupees 7 lacs was borne by myself and not to mention the unemployed situation I am in since august 2012.
All my attempts to reach out to Harley-Davidson India and their Asia Pacific regional headquarters have all been in vain and while I would not like to work for this organisation that has scant respect for human values and relationships, I want to highlight the ruthless corporate behaviour and how they use their money power to get away with this kind of physical, emotional damages and trauma they inflict on powerless individuals like me, who nearly gave their life and limb for their profiteering!
i would also request for some advice on who else i need to petition to get the justice that i seek. please email me at the above address.
