Over 80% of students currently enrolled in a Chemistry course in Knox County Schools have a low grade, failing, or close to failing. Chemistry is a required class, but most students are not benefiting from chemistry and it is causing students GPA to drop. A lot of students complain about teachers not being able to teach chemistry. Some students have even observed teachers to be confused by the material they give out. With letting students pass chemistry, students wouldn’t have a “chain” tied to them and wouldn’t be stressed about improving their GPA.
