David Wilson started this petition to Hardin-Simmons University

As a campus, congregation of individuals is not as good idea. On a campus, people open and close doors, congregate in close proximity, and use public facilities after each other. And the truth is, not everyone is going to perform the proper sanitation procedures.

With the COVID-19 spreading and not changing, the chances of someone catching the virus is eminent, just a matter of when. As of now, students are on Spring Break and traveling all over the place. They will come in contact with places and people. And then they will return to campus, on and off. Interacting with each other. They could be a carrier and not even know it. Some students have gone home for Spring Break to locations where the COVID-19 has been detected and cases have been found (Houston).

The virus not only effects students daily life but their health as well. Students can’t do their job of getting an education if they are sick or quarantined. An education is important to ALL students and students just want to be safe and get a degree. What better way than to be safe, out of harms way. With the comfort and security of family.

It’s better to prevent anymore possible spread and to have classes strictly online if possible. Class should be started the week of the 23rd.
