The Hanover Township Community Center is the "Heart of Our Community". It nutures the physical and mental well-being of its members through various programs, activities, sports teams and special events geared to people of all ages. In a time of so much uncertainty, community should be the one thing that remains a constant. With the news of the community center closing "indefinitely", we are once again left anxious, confused, and isolated. Our children have no where to go and nothing to do which is leading to mischeivious and destructive behavior on the streets of our community. The elders in our community, who spent months in isolation and were just starting to get back to some sort of physical and social activity will be left alone again. By continuing to follow the CDC safety guidelines, there is no reason that the community center should not be able to stay open and restart more of their programs and activities. I have lived in Hanover Township for 24 years. My children attended preschool at the center and did their community service hours there. I have also been a parent volunteer for the Hanover Starz Cheerleading program for the last 13 years. I have worked closely with the community center directors, who have always been supportive and put the best interest of our athletes first. Through this program, I have truly seen the impact the community center has on young lives. Building  confidence and character and providing a sense of belonging creates kind, respectful and productive community members, and that is the type of community I want to live in. Sign and save the Hanover Township Community Center. Thank you!
