More Crossing Guards for Southwood School

Do you have a child who bikes or walks to Southwood School? If so, have you ever been concerned about the safety of your child when they cross the busy streets around school? Did you know that at the intersection of Kroeker Ave and Southwood Drive, alone, on average 90 cars and 20 busses pass through during the times students are walking to and from school? Or that at the intersection of Cedar Crescent and McKenzie Ave, on average, 220 cars and 20 busses pass through during the times children are walking to and from school? Would you like to see paid, adult, crossing guards at these intersections? Southwood PAC is petitioning Hanover School Division to increase funding for proper supervision at these busy intersections and bus routes. We believe that it is HSD’s responsibility to protect our children at busy intersections around Southwood School between the hours of 8:30A.M and 4:00P.M. We need your support! If you have a child who uses these intersections, or if you are concerned about the safety of pedestrians around Southwood School, sign this petition. Make your voice heard!
