Boston police, hands off our unhoused neighbors & the tent city in the Newmarket Area!Greedy real estate developers, the Baker administration, and years of local policy failures have forced hundreds of our unhoused neighbors to build a tent city in the Newmarket area, and other areas in the city of Boston. 

Our unhoused siblings are forced to live on the street without proper sanitation facilities, social services, adequate food, clothing, nor necessary economic resources.  Support services are kept underfunded or absent by an inhumane profit-over-people system that keeps building condos where only accessible to the rich. 

Most of our unhoused neighbors cannot tolerate living in the city's shelters because of paternalistic, and counter-productive restrictions. Mistreatment, and disrespect at the hands of shelter staff is frequently cited. Even absent these conditions, shelters are not an adequate solution to houselessness, nor are they conducive to establishing a stable life.

The lack of humane and affordable housing in this city IS NOT the fault of poor and low income working people!

We demand that the authorities take no action to remove or harm the hundreds of people living as best they can in the Newmarket area.
