The problems with Johnson Park T-ball Fields are numerous. There is no paved handicap parking near the fields, the fields are located in a low lying area where water stands when it rains, there are no paved walkways for wheelchairs, adult walkers , or even baby strollers to access the fields. The ground becomes a soggy, muddy mess with rainfall. Last year my electric wheelchair got stuck numerous times while trying to get to the fields to watch my 5 year old grandson play ball. Many people, especially those with physical limitations, could not get out of their vehicles to watch the games.

Secondly, there are ni public restrooms, only portable potties are in place. I am a leg amputee in an electric wheelchair & therefore I am left with no way to access a restroom when needed. There is also no faucet for washing children's hands, bloody scrapes & noses, nor the hands of those who can actually use the portable potties. THIS IS NOT SANITARY!

Thirdly, there is no concession stand, not even a portable one.This means no way to have refreshments, drinks, Powerade or Gatorade for hydration, or even a piece of candy or popcicle for the diabetic whose sugar may drop or bottom out.

Many of our citizens have expressed these concerns on social media & shared their feelings at the ball park. I believe our community deserves these benefits & upgrades. All of the other fields; totally seperated a great distance from these fields, have these ammentities. By the City of Andalusia, as well as the Department of Leisure & Recreatiins, not providing these necessities, our citizens are being neglected.
