Residents Against Proposed Gravel Pit - Greenfield Indiana

Maxwell Land Investments LLC has petitioned Hancock County to rezone 2 parcels from R-1 (residential) to AG (agricultural) and then request a use exception permit to extract sand/gravel on 3 parcels totaling over 200 acres near Maxwell, IN.
Primary access to the pit will be via CR 600N for approximately 2 years until an internal roadway is completed to connect to CR 550N.
Maxwell Land Investments anticipates they will operate extraction, processing, and trucking of gravel materials from this site for 20 years.
As a community, we do not feel the intended use is worth the impacts including: decreased property values, noise, dust, truck traffic, road safety, damage to wetlands, impacts to the environment, and change in local hydrology.
We ask you to support us in our opposition to the zoning change and use for gravel extraction.
