Ensure the Future of Hancock County Libraries in Mississippi

Budget discussions in Hancock County, Mississippi reflect what’s happening in many cities and counties across the country: it’s a struggle to allocate limited funds to libraries when there are critical public safety, pension and other needs. The Hancock County Board of Supervisors wants to maintain the level of library service, and one option under consideration is managing them under a public-private partnership. It is important to let them know that the community supports this as a way to keep libraries going with the same or better level of service.

Individuals that do not fully understand the benefits of a public-private partnership mislabel them as privatization. Hancock County will continue to own their libraries and oversee their operations.

Please sign this petition and let County Supervisors know that you support their decision to explore a public-private partnership that would ensure the future of Hancock County’s libraries.
