As a resident of Alresford Drove I regularly risk my life coming out of my drive in my car onto a road with a 60mph limit, having several near misses. Walking along the road on foot I never feel safe as many cars will pass at high speed just because "legally" they aren't speeding. Horse riding up and down this road is risky, particularly approaching the double blind hill as people cannot see what's approaching and yet are coming at high speed. Finally, a cat has just been killed in a hit and run by a driver that was going way too fast for the road, but because they weren't "technically" going over the 60mph speed limit they weren't breaking the law.

I would like to see Alresford Drove reduced to a 30mph limit from way before the double blind hills, and several speed bumps to be put in place to physically stop people from speeding, as they would risk damage to their vehicle. This scheme has been shown to work in Worthy Down on Connaught Road. 

How many more animal deaths and human near misses will it take before something is done and this issue is taken seriously?

Ollie the cat shouldn't have had to die for this to take off. Do not let him and others that have perished on this road have died for no reason.
