Petition to
HAMILTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Why this petition matters

                                     Please do NOT send donations.

No amount of money is worth the negative impact on our health, our environment, & our quality of life .... WE WANT RULES NOW !

HAMILTON COUNTY IS TIRED OF BEING DUMPED ON

by every other county around us.  All other counties have rules that protect their neighborhoods, the health of their families, their property values, and their environment.  Why does Hamilton County have to smell, and see, and deal with the health hazards and environmental damage done by the rotting garbage from other counties and states?

Because we have no rules here - and they do.

That's why about 55% of the trash dumped at Mt. Rumpke in Hamilton County comes from neighboring counties - even from states as far away as Illinois.  Every county is required by law to dispose of their own trash, but not having rules here means they can all trash our county.  It's just enough.

On Thursday (December 16th), the Hamilton County Commissioners are voting on whether or not to adopt rules that:

  1. gives them veto power over decisions made by the Ohio EPA whose own rules are the 6th worst in the country.
  2. gives the commissioners the authority to approve where landfills are allowed to go (like not next to your house/neighborhood, not by a waterway, not by a school or park, etc.)
  3. gives residents and local jurisdictions a voice in the process - FINALLY!

Please sign the petition, leave your zip code, and tell the commissioners we've waited long enough.  Or email the county commissioners at: Leslie.Hervey@hamilton-co.org  No more delays, adopt rules today!  It's time to:

protect our families, our businesses, our communities, & our environment.
