The novel coronavirus, COVID-19 has been identified as a deadly strain that is highly contagious. Multiple counties, regardless of their medical level and available resources, have failed to contain the virus. It is thus essential for everyone to take initiatives before it's way too late to act.

We, the faculty and students at New Haven County, Connecticut have been concerned about the virus, and people who might potentially underestimate the risk and effect size of the virus, which is unprecedented.

We are asking Hamden Hall Country Day School to take the initiative and close the campus in order to stop the spread of this virus. Take advantage of technology, start online classes. We all already know the risks COVID-19 poses to the public, particularly those who are immunocompromised or elderly, and we must act now to keep students, faculties, their families, and the community safe.

Close the school does not mean that we are retreating. It only means that we are adapting better and more proactive methods for preventing the spread of this deadly Coronavirus and helping all of us creating a better and healthier environment. We all believe that with the proper and proactive methods adopted by all of us, we can quickly get over this issue and return to normal life.
