Safer streets for the Diamond Oaks neighborhood

Safer streets for the Diamond Oaks neighborhood
The mission of this petition is to gather signatures from the residents of the Diamond Oaks neighborhood in Haltom City to bring to the City Council meeting to have NO PARKING AREAS Designated.
The ask of the City Council will be to control parking on Cedarcrest Drive up to and including the areas near the intersections with Georgian Drive and Golden Oaks Drive.
Unfortunately for our neighborhood the apartment building on the corner of Cedarcrest Drive and Denton Highway has instituted a Permit Parking policy which has forced unregistered visitors/residents to overflow into our neighborhood. This has become a significant problem.
The issue is threefold:
1. Safety: There are individuals coming into our neighborhood that are not good neighbors. Example: At 5pm today, while walking the neighborhood streets, my wife was stared down in a menacing manner by a person accessing one of the vehicles parked on Cedarcrest in front of the Haltom homestead. Result: Are we to be made to feel uncomfortable walking our own streets?
2. Illegal Parking: Parking along the fence line at apartments with clear "No Parking" signs not being enforced. Result: This puts in peril drivers in either direction on Cedarcrest when a driver exits the steep driveways of the apartment complex and there is a lack of visibility due to vehicles blocking the two driveways.
3. Street Parking Overflow: Vehicles parked on both sides of the street, forcing a single lane path, and vehicles parked for extended periods of time, over 24 hours (weeks on some occasions). Results: There is now an ongoing visible trash situation including drug paraphernalia; and a FIRE HAZARD to the neighborhood because Rescue Vehicles are unable to pass through the clogged streets easily.
PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION AND HELP MAKE DIAMOND OAKS SAFETY A PRIORITY!
