As residents of south Mississauga, ON, Canada, we have always cherished the stretch of lakefront greenspace spanning Clarkson, Lorne Park and Port Credit. These parks are what make our communities so special for homeowners and visitors alike. However, a proposed condo tower threatens to encroach upon this beloved parkland.

The traffic along Lakeshore is already unbearable; adding a condo tower will only exacerbate this issue. More importantly though is the threat to our delicate habitats, ecosystems and wildlife that make our home so unique and special.

According to Environment Canada's Canadian Wildlife Service (2018), urban development is one of the leading causes of habitat loss in Canada. It not only destroys homes for wildlife but also disrupts migration patterns and food sources.

This isn't just about preserving our community's character; it's about protecting biodiversity and ensuring future generations can enjoy the natural beauty we've been privileged with.

We must stand together against this proposed development. We urge local authorities to reconsider their decision in favor of sustainable alternatives that respect both community needs and environmental integrity. Please sign this petition to protect our precious lakefront parkland from being overrun by condos.
