Jason Archer started this petition to Superintendent School District 20 Colorado Springs, Colorado J. Thomas Gregory tom.gregory@asd20.org and

Recently there was filed with Change.org a petition for Colorado Springs school district 20 to halt the display of The Confederate Battle Flag. This petition is an attempt to persuade aforementioned school district to reconsider the petition started by Hailey Schramm " Ban the Display of Confederate Flags in Classrooms" and to consider the educational purposes of the display of this flag.

The Confederate Battle Flag represents the blood shed by over 13,000 Hispanic Confederate Soldiers Such as, Colonel Santos Benavides and the 33rd Texas Cavalry 3,000 Black Confederate Soldiers like, Holt Collier and almost 30,000 Native Americans, including Brigadier General Stand Watie. Proving not only whites fought for the Confederate Army, Navy, and Marines.

The Flag was simply displayed for the period of the course for educational purposes and is not displayed daily. It is important and valid in today's educational system and historical context as it represents an innumerable amount of minorities living today descended from this line of men. To ban The Battle Flag in District 20 would be dishonoring the blood shed by these men for this flag. And denying their existence in the history of this grate nation. We humbly ask, with all respect, that District 20 not put in motion any plan to ban or remove The Confederate Battle Flag and the history of almost 50,000 non white soldiers and countless descendents of these men that bled and indeed gave their last breath for The Confederate States Of America.
