Petition update

Sam Corbett
Winder, GA, United States

Mar 21, 2019 —

We are in awe of the love and support felt from the nearly 10,000 signees that have decided to stand with us in the past 48 hours. Thank you to the students literally across the world, the Johnson High School alumni, the Gainesville Times, and, of course, every other person who has taken the time to dedicate their name to our cause—you are all appreciated.

Since this petition was published on Monday night, we have worked with the Johnson High School administration (not the superintendent) to devise a revised plan to replace the traditional Knight's Prom Court. Although this plan is not yet official, we are optimistic that it will be a step in the right direction and we will share the details as soon as possible.

I urge you to visit the link below, not only to see Mr. Schofield's comments on his decision, but also to learn more about Dex's story:

Once again, we thank each and every one of you that has helped get us to this point—it would not be possible without your support. As we continue to receive news coverage, each link will be uploaded to this petition for all to see; after all, you have all contributed.
