For the past 2 years, our community has been calling the Halifax Shopping Centre security and Halifax Regional Police to report the nightly occurrences of 5-30+ vehicles loitering in the HSC parking garages near entrance 6. This has GOT to stop! Night after night we hear them shoot off firecrackers, rev their engines, speed around the outside of the HSC, and skid their tires, etc. This can be heard from the middle to bottom or Cook Avenue and occurs anywhere from 7pm until midnight. The HSC security and HRP do nothing to stop it and our concerns have been ignored. 
Our community houses babies, children, working parents, and many elderly, and the drivers of these vehicles have brushed off our concerns and continued to be disrespectful to our attempts and requests to have them stop. 
Sharon Pottie has been in conversation with our local MLA who has advised we start this petition to have the HSC chain off the entrances to the parking garages at a specified time and/or put speed bumps in around the parking lots to reduce the speed of the vehicles, which honestly seems like something that should have happened long ago.
