We have been battling against Developers for 4 years now to save this precious pocket of green – obtaining a Tree Preservation Order, fighting 4 planning applications (all rejected by Hackney Council) and seeing the Developer’s Appeal to the Planning Inspectorate thrown out. Now the latest scheme is set to go before Hackney’s Planning Sub-Committee, which will likely decide the fate of the trees once and for all.  Having been backed into a corner by the Developer, Hackney Council now say they will APPROVE it!!

Formerly allotments this is garden is filled with mature trees and wildlife - and is unsuitable for development.

London's major problem with air pollution is well known and growing, Mayor Sadiq Khan's says it is one of his key goals: ‘The air in London is toxic and I will not stand by and do nothing’ while Hackney Cllr Feryal Demirci acknowledges that ‘…trees absorb pollutants, which helps to improve air quality, crucial for people’s health in urban areas…’
We need to show Hackney Council we all still feel the same about the valuable trees and green space that will be lost; this is NOT brownfield land. This is a garden.
