There are currently no Asian grocery stores within 15-20 minutes of Burbank. In fact, there are really no major Asian grocery stores in Burbank, Glendale, Toluca Lake, Studio City, Sherman Oaks, and North Hollywood.
When residents of Burbank and nearby areas in the San Fernando Valley want Asian groceries and a wide array of fresh seafood and unique meat cuts, the closest grocery store they can visit is the H Mart in K-Town, 99 Ranch in Van Nuys, Galleria Market in Northridge, or Seafood City in Eagle Rock.
Although the Asian population in the San Fernando Valley may not be as large as that of the San Gabriel Valley, there is an under served, growing Asian community who would love convenient access to familiar food items they cannot find in a regular grocery store. More importantly, H Mart appeals to the non-Asian community as well. In H Mart's other branches, a diverse group of customers regularly enjoy its high quality meats, produce, and grocery offerings. An H Mart in Burbank will be sure to attract shoppers seeking hard-to-find items such as sushi grade ahi tuna and Korean BBQ style beef brisket. H Mart stores are also clean, comfortable, and well-designed which elevate the shopping experience.
With H Mart's current expansion plans, we hope it considers opening a branch in Burbank. There are currently more than 100,000 residents in the city. With the presence of major media studios and other offices, the daytime population reaches 200,000 with a significant number of working professionals who regularly stop by a grocery store on their way home from work. Burbank is also centrally located and the gateway to the San Fernando Valley which has more than 1.75 million residents.
