Keep Barmouth Bridge open to walkers and cyclists

Milestone reached - 20,000 signatures to keep Barmouth Bridge open to walkers and cyclists!

Last night we reached a fantastic milestone with more than 20,000 people having signed the petition in less than one week. Thank you all for your support. You may already have seen there has been a fair amount of media coverage, and rightly so as we have collectively sent a clear signal on the importance and value this route holds for local people and visitors alike. Please do continue to share the petition with friends and family, as I’m sure there are many more who feel equally as passionate. Encouragingly, Gwynedd Council are planning to undertake a public consultation on all of the measures currently being considered as part of budget cuts. You can register now to take part [see link], although the consultation does not start until September. The next step for me will be to present Gwynedd Council with the petition, and to submit a consultation response in due course on behalf of all signatories. Once again thank you for your support in petitioning to keep this much-loved walking and cycling route open. Amy.
