Nurse in trousers told her London Marathon record would not count

Guinness World Records says Jessica Anderson needed to have had a dress on to qualify

And from Runners World:

Despite running a fast time (and being a nurse), Jessica's nurses uniform was the wrong type of uniform for a world record

Jessica Anderson is a nurse who ran the London Marathon wearing her nurses uniform, aiming to beat the current record of 3:08:54.

She ran 3:08:22 at the weekend yet her record will not be recognised by Guinness World Records (GWR) as her nurses uniform doesn't match the criteria.

GWR explained that the requirements for all costumes is very specific to ensure there is distinction between attempts and that her nurses uniform matched similar criteria to that of the fastest marathon run as a doctor and that the reason for the old fashioned and stereotypical nurses outfit was to aid this differentiation.

So, according to GWR, nurses have dresses, pinafores and hats, but Doctors wear scrubs.

This petition is to GWR to update their rules to reflect that no nurse in 50 years has worn what they think nurses wear.
