Grovetown's Seniors Need Their Center back!!

This petition made change with 278 supporters!

The staff members at Grovetown's Senior Center moved on to better jobs.  When this happened, the city of Grovetown did not fill the vacancies.  Instead, they sent a clerk from City Hall to take care of the Senior Center.  Unfortunately, the clerk had no desire to work with the elderly and quickly chased people away with her rude and disrespectful behavior.  When participation dropped down to small numbers, it appeared that Grovetown's seniors did not want a Senior Center.  Based on this misinformation, the city closed the program on Robinson Avenue.  The Senior Center closing meant that hot meals and the "Meals on Wheels" program closed as well. In addition, the Senior Center served as a Cooling Center during the hot summer months.  Our seniors deserve better than a weekly game of bingo!  They deserve to have a place in the city of Grovetown where they can socialize and exercise their mind, body, and spirit. Our seniors worked hard for many years to support our children, schools and community.  Now it is time for us to show them our support!  If you live within the city limits of Grovetown, please consider signing and sharing this petition to re-open Grovetown's Senior Center.  Lets give them back their building and the support personnel to properly run their program.
