I am petitioning against the proposed location of the Grove Community Park.

This location cannot possibly support all the amenities listed. Building a PUBLIC park on this site would greatly impact and intrude upon the homes that currently surround this plot of land.  More traffic on inadequate rural neighborhood roads (Jackson St. and Howard Dr). Concerns of security with more foot traffic across private properties and increased noise levels in a relatively quiet area.

This plot of land  which is owned by the Housing Authority, could possibly be utilized to build more affordable housing for lower and mid-level income families to (purchase). Which is greatly needed.

In my opinion, there were other locations that would have been more suitable for a project of this magnitude within the community, and they should be reconsidered.

Possible expansion of Abraham Frink Community center. (plenty of land at rear of center)

Possible development of the existing Grove Community Park,  (THE PLAY GROUND).  The play ground has been in the community for over 60 yrs. Entrusted to Mt Gilead Baptist Church and Little Zion Baptist Church, to become what? if a new community park is built.

Many are not even aware of this action in the community, that was based on a survey and analysis conducted in 2018. But, I hope as a result of this petition, people who live in the Grove Community become aware and involved  in the direction the community takes.

So, please sign the petition to show that you are against this proposed location.

To those on the Advisory  Committee, we ask that you conduct more conspicuous community meetings and distribute more relevant/current information concerning a community park in Grove. Provide a legitimate site to submit our questions and concerns as well adequate time to respond.

Your favorable consideration of our request would be appreciated.
