According to figures from the Department of Education and the National Statistical Coordination Board in the Philippines, 1 in 6 Filipino kids will not attend school. Further, only 7 out of 10 kids will complete elementary school. Of those 7 kids, only 4 will complete high school, and of those 4, 1 will proceed onto university. In 2013, 19.2% of survey respondents said, “insufficient family income” was their main reason for absence from school. While some areas of the Philippines benefit from excellent education facilities and teaching, others particularly rural areas do not.  Education correlates with living standards. A more critical eye needs to be cast on the Filipino education system, it fails to those who need it most. As the population continues to grow, and government spending on education continually falls short, the rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer. Inevitably, literacy rates and other measures of education standards will fall as more people are sucked into poverty.

Our team, Empowering Education Movement aims to help the youth in communities with environments that are more conducive to learning, whether at home, in school, or within the village. Our mission and vision is to assist poor families in raising a happy, intelligent, well-adjusted child.Foster a child's independence. Encourage respect for ones self and others. Tailor an educational program to each child's unique talents, learning styles, abilities and personalities. Children are well prepared with the skills for a successful transition to enter into another chapter of their life. The unique setting of a family home center type of environment. Teaching, Learning, Caring program lays a strong foundation to last a lifetime.

We will be seeking help from LGUs particularly DSWD, they expertise in child care. Their help will be valuable for us to succeed. Funds to enable us to execute our plan will come from fund raising event such as fun run and other activities.
