A GROCERY STORE IN HIGHLAND HILLS IS NEEDED TO RESOLVE A FOOD DESERT ISSUE.

The residents that lives in the communities of Alta Mesa, Arden Terrace, Cherry Valley, Five Mile, Floral Farm, Hidden Valley, and Highland Hills are asking for a Grocer to build, develop, or open a grocery store in their area. The communities are located in an area in Southern Dallas that has been redlined for years and known as a food desert.
Residents it is time for us to come together as "HIGHLAND HILLS UNITED" because we are the taxpayer, and we have the power to say what we want in our Community. As taxpayers, we have been misled and our tax dollars have been misused or spent North of us.. We are often told by our city leaders there are not enough "ROOF TOPS". (The roof tops that are not being counted are tax exempt properties (senior citizens, the disabled, and residents that rent). Roof tops only matter when its time to VOTE.
Residents lets sign this petition and put into action that we want a grocery store in our area to deplete and defeat the food desert issue in our black and brown communities.
