JK DeLary started this petition to Greystar Real Estate Partners and

This petition is the result of ongoing and progressively excessive billing statements that Kapilina Beach Homes residents have continued to receive, some over $1,000 a month in electricity charges.  Additionally, electricity bills for some residents fluctuate dramatically, with one month's billing being upwards of $500 more than the previous month's. Those affected claim that they have not changed their electrical habits in any significant way. Most concerning is that there has been no logical explanation for this from Kapilina Beach Homes management, whose parent company is Greystar Real Estate Partners.

The primary concerns involve the following issues: (1) the need for better transparency with the usage of residential utilities, specifically electricity and water; (2) transparency with utility billing for each resident; and (3) equitable practices regarding the division of such sub-metered usage and billing among all residents at Kapilina Beach Homes.

If these issues are not resolved, the families affected at Kapilina Beach Homes will be evicted, simply because they cannot afford these electrical expenses.

As a result, an online Facebook group called K.R.I.M.E. (Kapilina Residents Investigating Matters of Electricity) was created to continue this important discussion. K.R.I.M.E.'s mission is to encourage its members to work collaboratively with management to rectify this situation appropriately, fairly, and respectfully. The desired goal is to stay in the community while creating more transparency, accountability, and improving resident-to-staff relations.

By signing this petition, your support brings awareness to this situation and encourages a call-of-action between Kapilina residents and management. We love and care about this community. Your support is truly appreciated.
