Public school districts expect school-aged children to be on electronic devices for a period of 6 - 7 1/2 hours a day.  This is an unreasonable way for children to learn.  It is not mentally, physically, or emotionally healthy.  Isolation can cause depression in children.  Too much screen time is not good for their brains!  This is a proven, scientific fact, that has been researched by top scientists in child development.  Per cbsnews.com, "a new warning from the AHA recommends parents limit screen time for kids to a maximum of just two hours per day. For younger children, age 2 to 5, the recommended limit is one hour per day."  With online classes scheduled from 7:30 am - 2:18 pm for high school students in Fraser School District, that is 6 hours and 48 minutes, take out time for "switching classes" and lunch, and it still leaves around 6 hours.  An executive order should be placed to prevent schools from being allowed to force these children to learn in an unhealthy setting.  Schools across the state are going back in person for hybrid learning.  There should be an order placed so that no student is left behind in this pandemic.
