Thomas Corser started this petition to Governor Gretchen Whitmer and

Please, join us in fighting for a reduced speed limit on Spring Arbor Rd in Jackson County, Michigan!

A 70 mph speed limit zone turns to 55 mph approximately within a quarter of a mile before residential driveways and homes start appearing. Far to often, this change in speed limits is ignored by drivers using the west bound lane of M-60. Not only are drivers dangerously merging from two to one lane of track, they are also continuing along at far to fast of a rate of speed. With residents turning in and out of driveways, vehicles still going over 60 mph+ and needing to rapidly slow down are causing rear end accidents and in some cases, pushing vehicles into the oncoming traffic lane and causing head on collisions.

We all know if a speed limit of 55 mph is posted, the average driver will be doing over 60 mph. Please help reduce the speed limit to 40 mph so that residents of this neighborhood can feel more safe turning in and out of their driveways and also so that anyone making their daily commute can make it to their destination safely.

This is a very high traffic area with very little room for error, reducing the speed of vehicles through this stretch of road could potentially save someone's life!
