We feel that our hockey community is being overlooked during the reopening phases of our state.  Permission has been granted for youth sports such as baseball to resume, but not hockey.  Hockey players are equipped from head to toe, and do not have skin to skin contact with other players.  They also do not have shared direct contact with an item such as a baseball which is handled by several players, because they use a stick to move the puck.  Our rinks all have plans in place to keep social distancing and cleanliness a priority, as the health and safety of our hockey players has always been paramount.   If restaurants, bars, retail stores, and casinos can be open, our rinks should be open as well.  This is something our children need for both their emotional and physical health.  Thank you.
