The numbers of COVID-19 cases and deaths are rising exponentially in the city of Detroit. Hospitals are on shortage of medical equipment necessary to treat the patients and the death toll is rising.

Complete lockdown for two or more weeks to the entire city of Detroit is needed to minimize and hopefully end the spread of COVID-19. Workers have families and elderly people living at home with them who could be at risk. Anyone still working should also have the right to stay at home with a paid leave. All companies including chain pharmacies should close for a temporary period of time.

Closure of schools, universities and public gathering places has not proven to be enough. We need to finally take serious and strict action towards this situation and lock down the city for an end to the chaos.
