I’m starting this petition on the behalf of all of the incarcerated people in MDOC. Everyone in there is getting inhumane treatment and their rights violated. Just in the Charles Egler reception facility alone there is 900 cases of Covid. The nurses in there are telling the prisoners congratulations when they find out that those detainees have Covid. They are also not giving masks or allowing them to disinfect properly. The prisoners in there are using old uniforms cut up to make masks. The only thing they’re using to clean up and the chow hall and their unit is water. Something needs to be done about this. The people in there are barely even allowed to make phone calls they’re allowed one call a week maybe and that’s if you make it to a phone. Not many people have the luxury of having the money in there to reach out to their family members to let them know what’s going on. There a parole violators in there that could come home and tether and be home with their family that have the means to pay their bonds and have family that can help. I believe
