The students of Professor Kimani's sections have continuously suffered over the past semester due to his lackluster teaching skills, abysmal grading system, and obvious lack of compassion/emotion for his students.

With a class average over 20 points lower than any other section, Professor Kimani has repeatedly indicated that he does not care. Students have asked for a curve, students have asked for homework assignments to balance this out, students have asked for him to show just a single ounce of compassion - and all of this has been met with either complete silence or a moot "I think that the class is fair" from the professor.

Students are not in this course voluntarily. Many students are Computer Science majors, who were forced into this class by a recent graduation requirement change from Khoury. They simply want to pass this class, and several are beginning to wonder if they will be forced to stay (and pay for) an additional semester at Northeastern just because Professor Kimani does not care about his students.

Every other section of digital design has a different grading system. Some sections have online quizzes, other sections have homework assignments that make up a large portion of the final grade - our section has none of that. We have small, timed, 15 minute quizzes, where every stroke of the pencil can lead to a full percentage point taken off of our final grade. We have absurd midterms where *not a single person was able to get a 100%*. 26 questions in 1 hour is maybe fair on paper, but when you take into account the increased latency of needing to draw out diagrams, scan them in via phone, transfer them to laptop, convert them to a file format supported by canvas, and then upload them, it is far from enough. Add on top of that the need to write MIPS assembly code in canvas text boxes that don't even support using "tab" to indent characters, and you've got an impossible exam. And Professor Kimani's response to that? "I think it was fair".

In conclusion, one thing has become obvious: Professor Kimani is not suited to teach this class (or any class, for that matter). Please replace him with a professor who truly cares about their students, their knowledge, and their well-being. Or at the very least, place our class under observation by the dean or a member of the deans office, so that they can evaluate Professor Kimani as a professor themselves.
