Designate Blackalls Park NSW 2283 as " District of Workforce Shortage" (DWS) for GP's

Blackalls Park Family surgery is a very busy general practice with a serious shortage of doctors in spite of repeatedly advertising for new doctors to join our practice.
According to NSW health and Medicare not all doctors who want to work as GP's are able to practice at their location of choice. Some doctors are only able to practice as GP's in certain areas identified as District of Workforce Shortage(DWS). Unfortunately Blackalls Park is not recognised as an area of work force shortage. Currently our area is NOT designated as a area of shortage for doctors which is is unfortunately not the case from our experience in trying to find for more doctors. We need to have Blackalls Park recognised as shortage area for doctors so that we could look into the possibility of recruiting doctors who are able to work in designated shortage areas as recognised by the Health department. If we achieve DWS status there would be a better chance of recruiting more GP's to serve our local community.
