After 5 decades of creating music as a singer, songwriter, guitarist, composer, and producer. It is time to induct Christopher Cross into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. We are asking all fans to take the time and sign the petition, to put Christopher Cross into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame.
Christopher Cross exploded onto the changing music scene with his 1979-80 self-titled debut album. This Album proved to be a music game changer not only with melodic memorizing perfect vocals, thought provoking lyrics, complex arrangements, technically flawless guitar work plus the talents of: Micheal McDonald, Don Henley, JD Souther, Nicolette Larson, Eric Johnson and more providing back up on this album. The album could not lose, and it did not. Christopher Cross the self titled debut album achieved Grammy history Winning the “Big Four” or all the most prestigious awards in one night: Record of the Year(Sailing), Album of the Year, Song of the Year(Sailing) and Best New Artist. Beating out Super Stars such as Sinatra, Pink Floyd and Billy Joel. Christopher Cross added a 5th Grammy for Best Arrangement (Sailing). This Epic achievement stood the test of time for 40 years and it opened the opportunity for Christopher Cross to work with celebrities and musics most influential and famous stars. The self titled album went 5x Platinum, Produced 4 Top 20 Hits, including one of the most recognizable and influential Number One songs in the history of music - “Sailing”. This Album also heavily influenced a new genre of music called “Yacht Rock” with Christopher Cross clearly the Captain of that ship!
In 1981 Christopher Cross collaborated with the one and only Burt Bacharach along with Carole Bayer Sager and Peter Allen, through that collaboration produced another undeniable song “Arthur’s Theme,” the theme song for the movie Arthur, which won an Oscar Award. Arthur’s Theme also became a chart topping Number One single.
The follow up album “Another Page” in 1983, Christopher Cross was once again in the Top 10 with the singles “Alright” and “Think of Laura.” The Album went gold and increased the Texans influence from national to international super star.
Over the next years Christopher Cross created 10 albums for a total of 12 to date. Selling millions of records, touring the globe, influencing new musicians, and cultivating new generations of fans. Christopher Cross music is timeless and showcases the immense talent and skills he has a writer, composer, singer, and guitarist.
