The state Government of Texas under Greg Abbott and Dan Patrick opposed and undid Austin's paid sick leave ordinance. Health officials advise staying home from work if experiencing flu like symptoms to combat the risk of Coronavirus,  potentially for as long as two weeks.  As many vulnerable Texans working in high risk industries like food service and retail do not have paid sick leave, they are unable to afford to take these safety measures. 

Greg Abbott should immediately call an emergency session of the state legislature to pass an immediate paid sick leave law so that citizens can take the necessary steps to prevent spreading the disease without losing their ability to afford basic necessities.
