End Greg Abbott's Voter Suppression

End Greg Abbott's Voter Suppression
Why this petition matters

A month before the 2020 election, Governor Abbott has severely limited the number of drop-off locations for mail-in ballots to just one per county.
This blatant and transparently political act of voter suppression means that Harris County will only have one single drop-off location for it's population of 4,767,540. So will Dallas County, with a population of 2,635,516, and Tarrant County, with a population of 2,102,515.
Greg Abbott did this during a global pandemic, one that is so dangerously contagious that it has infected the President of the United States. But when one realizes that Harris County is one of the most diverse counties in Texas, with a non-white population of 71.1%, Abbott's intentions become even more obvious. And more ominous.
Voting is sacred for democracy, but Texans have always had to fight for their enfranchisement. We all remember the endlessly long lines during the primary elections, and now the Texas GOP continues to put Donald Trump's electoral chances before the voting rights of their own citizens.
We demand that Governor Abbott reverse this decision and give voters the ability to make their voices heard for one of the most consequential elections in American history.
