Educate Teens on the Baby Moses Law in Texas

After yet another mother abandoned her child in Houston on August 10, it is clear that we are not reaching our full potential with educating our teens about the resources available to them when faced with an unwanted pregancy. Specifically in reference to the Baby Moses law. This law was created as a means of last resort for those who find they cannot care for their newborn children, and while we have seen this law (thankfully) used by many parents; it does not seem to be well known or used by those most in need of it- our teenage mothers.
I started this petition to ask that the state of Texas include information on the Baby Moses law in our Health and Sex Ed courses. I ask those that would see this as encouragement for teenagers to abandon their children, to instead see it as a saving grace for a completely defenseless human being.
I tagged Greg Abbott and Sylvester Turner as the "Who can change it?" people as this is an issue both Republicans and Democrats should be able to agree on: That no child be left alone naked, and starving, and covered in bugs in a garden bed because of their mother's fear and ignorance, ever again.
There is absolutely no reason why young mothers should be lacking in the knowledge that they can leave their child somewhere safe, no questions asked, and without backlash on them. And certainly no child deserves the alternative. Please take a moment to sign and share this petition so we can enact this change as soon as possible.
