The Heartbeat Bill has just passed in Texas BANNING abortions after six weeks, when some women don't even know they are pregnant at that time, EVEN in cases of RAPE and INCEST. This is repulsive to me as a sexual assault survivor and I would like Greg Abbot to know how much damage this bill will do. The Heartbeat Bill will only raise the mortality rate because you cannot stop abortions. You can only stop safe and legal abortions. Women and the fetuses you are concerned about, will both die at a higher rate if you allow this bill to continue. This petition is for making exceptions for rape and incest. That is such a simple thing to ask for. It is basic human decency, and I demand that from my representatives. Abortion should by no means be a method of contraception, but in cases of rape in incest you owe it to the victim to have compassion for the trauma they have endured.

To Greg Abbot, I want you to imagine you were raped and that you have to carry through with that pregnancy, are you willing to? Think about it, really let the trauma sink in. Don't put someone through that pain.
