We implore the Town of Greenwich to expedite approval and emergency funding to create the second egress/driveway at Greenwich High School. This new egress would connect US1, Cardinal Stadium and school parking. The upcoming bridge repair on US1 between Hillside and Brookridge roads will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction for up to two years. At school start and stop times, the lines of traffic could extend for miles.  There is already an existing traffic problem even without lane closures. This compounded traffic congestion will create a safety and security hazard for the entire community.  US1 is the primary corridor for all town emergency services and Greenwich Hospital.  These lane closures will affect the quality of life for those who use the Post Road (US1) regularly and all who reside nearby.
